Client: ARU Catering Services

Architect: Tiziana Mori
Project value: £ 75.000

Aru Catering Services requested the refurbishment of 3 food outlets together with an overall rebranding of all the catering facilities. There wasn`t much of cohesiveness among the various areas and 3 minor outlets needed to find a new style identity as aged in terms of offer and look.

The 3 minor outlets together with the main Cambridge restaurant changed name and I worked on their rebranding giving a consistent approach to the choice of colour and style with a white text and a yellow dot at the end of each, yellow as one of the university corporate colour (yellow and blue).

Black and wood the two main features I proposed  to work around to create the new design.

The front counters have been created with a front wooden slats cladding, a white marble effect laminate top and anthracite cupboards panels for the back counter. A black back wall background to allow the new name to pop up in visibility.

A detailed consultation with the client defined all the equipment needed and the right position and sequence to offer the right service to customers.

The hoffmanns cafe in Marconi building in Chelmsford has been the main refurbishment, in a tricky location as at the entrance of the building, in front of the main entrance doors and with a concrete column in front of the front counter which was resolved nicely.

The blend cafe in Cambridge had a front counter upgrade with new black side walls and new signage.

The smallest of the 3 outlets is the new the Hatch which provides support to the main restaurant in Cambridge for snacks during the day.

The new design together with a new food offer are working perfectly together for a successful attraction to students.
